Country Restaurant Awards

From the gilded dining rooms of the Gulf to the trattorias of Italy and the izakayas of Japan, the International Restaurant Awards honour culinary excellence in every nation we celebrate.

A Global Table

Recognition Rooted in Place

Great dining is never placeless. A tasting menu in Paris carries the weight of centuries of technique; a hawker-inspired counter in Singapore tells a story of trade winds and family recipes; a desert resort in the UAE marries Levantine hospitality with the precision of a modern kitchen. The International Restaurant Awards were built to honour this diversity, recognising the chefs, restaurateurs and front-of-house teams who give each country its own distinct flavour of excellence.

Our country pages gather every nation in which we accept nominations, organised by region so you can navigate quickly to the market that matters to you. Each country page outlines the dining culture of that nation, the categories open for entry there, and the criteria our judges apply when assessing restaurants within its borders. Whether you operate a single neighbourhood bistro or a celebrated group spanning several cities, there is a place for your work here.

Why It Matters

National Pride, International Standard

A national award carries a particular kind of meaning. It places your restaurant within the company of the very best in your country, and it signals to diners, investors and talented chefs that your kitchen represents the standard others aspire to. For a city-centre fine-dining room or a coastal seafood house alike, that distinction travels far beyond your dining room.

Every entry is assessed against the same rigorous, region-aware framework, balancing universal markers of hospitality with respect for local ingredients, traditions and dining customs. A judge evaluating a Japanese restaurant in Tokyo and one assessing a Mediterranean kitchen in Athens share the same commitment to fairness and depth, even as they honour what makes each cuisine singular.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the awards for my country? +

Use the regional groupings above to locate your nation, then select its card to open the dedicated country page. There you will find the dining culture overview, the categories open for entry, and guidance tailored to restaurants operating within that market.

Can a restaurant enter in more than one country? +

Yes. Groups that operate venues in several nations may submit each location under its respective country, as every site is judged on its own merits. A restaurant with one address, however, should enter under the country where it trades.

Are the judging standards the same in every country? +

The core criteria, covering cuisine, service, atmosphere, consistency and hospitality, apply everywhere. Our judges also weigh regional context, so that local ingredients, traditions and dining customs are respected rather than penalised. The bar for excellence remains identical worldwide.
